Alexandria Arrest Source Map
City police write up the enforcement action itself. The parish detention system tracks who is in custody. The court holds the final outcome, and each record can surface on its own schedule. Matching the question to the right record holder beats treating one news story or roster row as the whole case.
How Alexandria Arrests Work
Several agencies make arrests in Alexandria, not just one. The Alexandria Police Department handles enforcement inside the city. APD is only part of the picture. RPSO deputies, Louisiana State Police, RADE, probation and parole officers, and federal partners all operate there too. The place of arrest, the arresting agency, and the holding facility can be three different facts. Never label a booking entry "APD" just because the event happened within city limits.
Alexandria counted 45,275 residents on April 1, 2020, making it the largest incorporated place in Rapides Parish in the 2020 Census incorporated-place table. It serves as the parish seat as well. That double role splits the records path. APD keeps its own incident and arrest reports, RPSO runs the parish detention system, and the courts record what follows booking.
Where Alexandria Arrests Appear
The department publishes no same-day city arrest log. No continuously updated APD roster exists either. APD News posts only selected announcements. For current custody, the official RPSO/LAVNS roster is the stronger check, with LA VINE handling status alerts.
| Channel | Official? | Coverage and photo limits |
|---|---|---|
| APD News | Yes | Selected city announcements, not a full blotter or photo roster. |
| RPSO/LAVNS roster | Yes, agency-linked | Current parish custody snapshot; no stable photo column was observed. |
| LA VINE | Yes | Participating state/local custody and alerts, not court disposition. |
| KALB Crime | No, newsroom | Frequent selected stories; images are story-specific. |
| Busted Newspaper | No | Deep county archive that may be stale; verify every entry officially. |
A dated news story can stay online long after release. A custody row can vanish just as fast. Neither change settles the case. The Weekly Arrest Log covers the gap between selected multi-day reports and a complete booking history.
Find Someone Arrested in Alexandria
Skip the single name search. Build a chain instead, starting with the newest official signal and moving to custody, agency records, and court outcome. Status changes fast, so note the date and source at every step.
- Check the Daily Arrest Report workflow and RPSO/LAVNS roster for current parish custody.
- Search LA VINE for the person and register for a status alert if the correct record is confirmed.
- Review APD News only for a selective agency announcement. Its silence does not mean no arrest occurred.
- Call APD Records when the incident was handled by city police, or RPSO when the desired item is a parish booking record.
- Follow the case through Alexandria City Court or the Rapides Clerk and 9th JDC, based on jurisdiction.
Each roster row lists name, birth date, race, and gender. Arrest date and a VINE registration action appear too. No booking-photo column shows up. The Rapides Parish booking-photo section explains why a focused records request beats an unofficial mugshot page. The official RPSO inmate route is the sheriff's public handoff to custody information.

Alexandria Police Arrest Records
APD's records page is the city route for police and traffic reports. Call Records at 318-441-6412. Identify the incident, the subject, the approximate date, and the exact item you want. A booking photograph must be named separately from the incident report. Ask for an electronic copy. APD posts no booking-photo form. It posts no fee schedule either. Also request an itemized estimate and a written legal basis for any withholding.
- Confirm that APD, rather than RPSO or another agency, created the incident report.
- Provide a narrow date range and known report, booking, or case number.
- List the incident report, booking record, and booking photograph as distinct items.
- Ask whether the record is electronic and request the least costly releasable format.
- Keep the request, response, fee estimate, and dates for follow-up.

Louisiana public-records law sets the access rules. R.S. 44:3 draws the line for law-enforcement material, so an initial report can carry a different status from investigative details. APD holds the police side. RPSO's records unit holds parish detention records its system created.
Alexandria Arrests and Courts
Custody status is not case status. Alexandria City Court handles qualifying municipal and misdemeanor matters. The Rapides Clerk and the 9th Judicial District Court provide the parish-level path. City Court sits at 515 Washington Street, Alexandria. Its clerk line is 318-449-5146. The published schedule lists criminal court on Tuesdays and traffic on Thursdays.
The Rapid E-Search criminal inquiry reaches back to January 1984, with images available from May 2003. An account is required, and access runs around the clock except for maintenance and a daily 3 a.m. backup. The original clerk records remain official. Terms like arrested, booked, charged, convicted, dismissed, and expunged name different events, not synonyms.
- Booking
- The jail’s intake and identification process after an arrest.
- Disposition
- The court-recorded result of a charge or case.
- Bond
- A court-set release condition that may change.
- Expungement
- A legal process that can remove eligible records from public access without necessarily destroying them.
Alexandria Warrant Arrest Checks
APD warrant service is an agency process. It is not a wanted-person gallery. The official APD warrants page describes hit confirmation, database updates, expired-warrant purges, and active service. Public hours run Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekends and holidays are excluded. The Warrant Division answers at 318-441-6468.
Never approach or follow a wanted person. Verify a possible warrant through an attorney, the court, or the published agency number. APD has warned that it never demands phone or gift-card payment to clear a warrant. Anyone pushing prepaid cards, wire transfer, or cryptocurrency is not following the city process.
A cached web result can outlast a warrant's recall or service. Only the agency or court confirms current status. Crime Stoppers CenLa and P3 Tips are tip channels, not databases, and should never be used to encourage confrontation.
Alexandria Arrest News Limits
KALB's crime index is the best rolling source for Alexandria arrests. Stories are dated and credit the arresting agency. That agency might be APD, RPSO, LSP, RADE, or a federal partner. Rapides Parish Journal adds operation coverage and occasional roundups of recent arrests across the parish. Neither outlet claims to be a full custody list, so news is a starting point rather than a roster substitute. The KALB crime page shows that gap clearly: plenty of incident reporting, no jail lineup behind it.

News stories give dates and context. They do not settle who is in custody right now. For that, check RPSO, LAVNS, or LA VINE. The Town Talk runs crime and courts coverage too. Parish aggregators can also leave old Alexandria booking pages up long after a person has been released, so treat any listing there as a lead only. Nail down the arresting agency first, then confirm present custody through RPSO or LA VINE, and leave the outcome to the court handling the case.
